About Us
We are an occupational charity providing financial assistance and practical support to members of the dental community during times of crisis. We help individuals facing challenges such as ill health, unemployment, workplace difficulties and other unforeseen life events.
Demand for our support has increased significantly in recent years. We are growing our capacity to ensure applicants receive fair, timely and compassionate assistance.
The Role
As Grants Caseworker, you will manage a varied caseload of applications for financial assistance. Using a holistic, needs-led approach, you will:
- Assess complex personal and financial circumstances
- Analyse income, expenditure and debt information
- Prepare clear case summaries and recommendations
- Make grant decisions within delegated authority
- Identify safeguarding concerns and escalate appropriately
- Signpost applicants to relevant statutory and voluntary sector support
Beyond individual casework, you will contribute to monitoring our impact by identifying trends and patterns within applications, helping to inform service development and continuous improvement.
This role requires sound judgement, emotional resilience and the ability to balance empathy with evidence-based decision-making.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience of casework or structured support for individuals facing financial or personal hardship
- Strong written communication skills
- The ability to assess complex financial information
- Confidence exercising judgement within clear guidelines
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Emotional resilience and the ability to maintain professional boundaries
Experience in a grant-making or benevolent fund environment and knowledge of UK benefits systems would be an advantage.
