The BDA Benevolent Fund has received a fantastic funding boost to the tune of £15,000 from Brent and Harrow Local Dental Committee.
Vice Chair, Dr Pradeep Vohra said the LDC was delighted to be able to support the Charity.
“It’s so important to be able to help our colleagues and give to the BDA Benevolent Fund so it can help more dental students get through their training and support dentists, former dentists and their families with financial and emotional wellbeing services.”
Collectively, Local Dental Committees make up the largest source of voluntary income and their individual contributions are listed in the Charity’s Annual General Report each year.
In 2020, 76% of the income from donations and legacies was from 41 LDC contributions, ranging from £150 up to £20,000.
“We couldn’t continue the work we do without the continued support of the LDCs” said Dr Ros Keeton, Chairman. “We’re extremely grateful for every contribution and the LDCs were particularly supportive through the COVID-19 pandemic, raising their contributions by almost 70% throughout 2020 compared to the previous year.”
