How we have helped

I sought asylum in the UK in August 2023 while working on a dental nurse visa, and I was granted refugee status in July 2025. After that, I began preparing for ORE Part 2. The exam fee is extremely high, and saving for it on my salary would have taken a long time, so I was genuinely grateful to learn about the BDA Benevolent Fund and the support they now offer to refugee dentists.
The online application process was straightforward and fully accessible, and uploading the required documents was simple especially as I keep everything organised in a secure folder on my phone. The exam fee being paid directly to the GDC was also a huge help. Every interaction I had with the charity was compassionate and supportive.
I am deeply thankful for the assistance I have received from the BDA Benevolent Fund, whose help has allowed me to continue my career as a dentist in my new home in the UK.
