How we have helped
Associate Dentist, Jersey
The Charity helped me get back to work after a traumatic birth and extended maternity leave.
The birth of my daughter, Amelia, in 2018 was extremely traumatic and didn’t go smoothly at all. I live in Jersey but needed specialist treatment in London due to needing a liver transplant. The unexpected events and subsequent recovery time needed ate into the savings myself and my husband had built up. It was a very stressful time in our lives.
When my maternity leave was coming to an end, I was still feeling unwell and wondering how I would manage. A dental colleague mentioned the Charity for All Dentists and that they might be able to help.
The transition back to work was an uphill struggle. I had no savings left and couldn’t fund the General Dental Council Annual Retention Fee, or any indemnity needed to practice.
The Charity stepped in to help financially. The application process was very simple and speedy, and the personal empathy given was very comforting too. I’m so very grateful for the financial support that helped me during those first 3 months of going back to work.
I’m now back on my feet, finances are stable once again and my daughter, and the rest of the family, is doing well.
