Update: After serious consideration, and in light of recent announcements from the CDC and World Health Organization, the BDA Benevolent Fund regretfully announces the postponement of its inaugural Advisory Council meeting, due to take place on Saturday 4 April 2020.
Although we were keen to get everyone together for our inaugural meeting, we recognise that those confirmed are travelling from all across the UK and we must take into consideration both any potential disruptions and an increased risk to health.
We will publicize a new date in due course – likely now to take place in September/ October time when things should be more stable.
Should you have any queries, please contact us.
The role of the Advisory Council is to provide a structure by which the BDA Benevolent Fund maintains and develops important relationships with key supporters and interested parties. Its function is to provide an opportunity for guidance, support and advice to the Board of Trustees in carrying out their remit.
The Advisory Council will support the charity with;
• networking and extending communication
• providing a mechanism for feedback to the charity
• being involved with discussions on the charity’s strategic priorities
The inaugural meeting will take place on Saturday 4 April 2020 to start at 11 am. It will be an opportunity to learn more about the Charity with some information and details about how we have been recently helping individuals in need. We will also discuss proposals about some new ways of working and support we are developing for applicants. This includes piloting some webinars focusing on financial capability as well as engaging with an Assistance Programme giving current and future grant recipients greater support via a 24/7 helpline.
We are inviting all those that are interested in the BDA Benevolent Fund and by joining us, we hope that you can provide advice, guidance, and help to the Board of Trustees in carrying out their remit and thus to those in the dental profession that are struggling.
The meeting will start at 11 am with registration and coffee. We aim to finish at approx. 1 pm and we hope you will stay to share lunch with the Trustees and your colleagues.
If you are able to attend, please RSVP by Monday 30 March 2020 in order for us to cater accordingly, letting us know if you have any dietary or access requirements.
